The Cisterian monks of Caldey continue a tradition which began there in Celtic times. More than a thousand years of prayer and quiet living have made this remote and beautiful island a haven of tranquility and peace. The present order of monks aquired the Abbye in 1929 and still occupy it today. They make chocolate, perfume and other gifts which you can buy to take away with you.
