Touring at Crimdon Dene
Located on Durham’s world-famous heritage coast and on the site of the Durham Coast National Nature Reserve, Crimdon Dene is a place of peace, tranquillity and all sorts of family-friendly fun! Let the kids run wild across the nearby sand dunes and beach, directly accessible from the park itself, or head out and explore the surrounding area. Crimdon Dene is a number-one destination for any touring enthusiast.
The facilities available to Crimdon Dene’s touring visitors are excellent. With grass or hard standing pitches sized at either 6m x 4m or 8m x 6m, any type of caravan or motorhome can be catered for. Take advantage of the electric hook-ups, water collection and disposal points, fresh water points, showers, toilets, and washing up sinks provided to all guests. Dogs are definitely allowed, and all of the park’s facilities are available to our touring guests.
That means you’ll be able to relax and have a bite to eat at the Boathouse Restaurant and Bar, splash and swim till your heart’s content in our spa and indoor pools, spend time with the kids at the playground and amusements arcade, and enjoy all of the fantastic entertainments and shows hosted at our entertainment centre, courtesy of the in-house entertainment group, the Teamstars.
Enjoying the great outdoors is easy at Crimdon Dene. There’s direct beach access to the huge sands that run off north, south and into the horizon, but there’s more to be enjoyed if you head further afield. Nearby is the wonderful seaside town of Hartlepool where you can see the Hartlepool Historic Quay - a fantastic re-creation of a bustling 18th century port – alongside the HMS Trincomalee and the Museum of Hartlepool. If you’re stuck for places to visit during your stay, our helpful staff will be more than happy to point you in an exciting direction!
**New for 2016** Crimdon Dene has had a facilities block refurbishment.
