It was our first time to visit the Isle of Wight, but it won’t be our last. It was like stepping back in time in a very good way. People had time to stop and smile, say Good Morning and Please and Thank You. Sadly something missing in these busy times.
We are a family of five and one dog and we all agreed that this was the best holiday we had ever had. The views as you drive around the Island are unspoilt and breathtaking. The shops are good value and well stocked and there was just so much to do.
We went to the Old Battery and all of us were overwhelmed by the sense of history. Not one gun had been fired in anger, when you look out across the sea - the sense of pride and how they defended their Island is just amazing. On holiday it is traditional that we have a cooked breakfast to set us up for the day, not this time, once we had found the pasty shop! We were visitors every morning - what a great way to start the day!
Every day was a new adventure and we still did not manage to see the entire Island.

I have 4 children and Lower Hyde Holiday Park is brilliant for all ages. It’s close to the beach, shops and the facilities are brilliant. My best memory was when we went for my daughters birthday and they called her up on stage and sung happy birthday to her and gave her a card and balloon.
